Waterfowl at the Dutzendteich Lakes in Nuremberg
Dutzendteich is an area of little lakes in southeastern Nuremberg. It was built by damming some creeks in 1337 (!). In 17th century Nuremberg citizens started to use it as a jaunt area. In 1933 it became part of the Nazi party rally grounds. A stone's throw away from here Leni Riefenstahl directed Triumph of the Will, a documentary film made at the 1934 congress in Nuremberg of the Nazi Party. Dismal memorials of the Nazi buildings still can be visited. But that's another story.
