Nuremberg - City
Nuremberg has a population of some 500.000 and is the second biggest town in Bavaria, Germany. Probably founded in 11th century there is rich tradition for example as the location of imperial castle and Imperial Diets in times of The Holy Roman Empire. The old city still - or again - reveals this history. In World War II the city was object of heavy air raid not only as an important industrial area but also as the city of the Nazi party rally grounds. After the war and the subsequent Nuremberg Trials the medieval old city was reconstructed and Nazi rally grounds were left as memorials.
