In Soroa we stayed for two days in the bungalows of Los Piedros. Sora is a little town 76 km west of Havana easy to reach on the motorway - if You don't crash into crossing vehicles or carts on the wrong side of the road. The hills of the Sierra Del Rosario are in view who now are a nature reserve and formerly were well known for the coffee that was grown here until rum, tobacco and sugar cane became more profitabel in 20th century. We visited some abandoned coffee plantations and near Las Terazas the Baños de San Juan, a public bath in the jungle besides the river San Juan. In Soroa You will find a wonderful orchid garden and a twenty meters waterfall, Salto Soroa.
