Niger - Agadez
In the mean time we know about the Tuareg Uprise and that it will be quite impossible to cross the sahara from South to North. But we want to take a look at Agadez ourselfs. This is where the desert beginns (as if we had fructuous soil until here).
On our way to Agadez we meet a big camel herd and struggling farmers. First thing of Agedez we see is the camel market. And then we walk through the sandy streest and abdmire the traditional mud architecture, especially the Grand Mosque. With 27 m this is one of the highest mud minaretts anywhere. Originalls it dates from 1515.
Agadez is the capital of Air, the tuareg province. To us it seemed quiet, but we were warned to go further North. The chances of beeing stopped (and worde) were nearly 100 %.
