Kazinga Channel in Uganda is a 32-kilometre long river that links Lake Edward and Lake George - just like a channel. Situated right inside Queen Elizabeth National Park a mud safari track leads north of the river. At the last windings before the Kazinga Channel flows into Lake Edward You can take a boat excursion that offers exceptional views of the vast wildlife on the river´s banks. Elephants, African buffalos, hippos, crocodiles and numerous birds such as stroks and eagles feeding and enjoying the easily accessible waters.

Fishermen of a village on the south coast opposite of the Mweya peninsula drive out in the night or fishing and thus avoiding hippos that would get in the way during daytime. Those hippos as is known rise out of the water at nighttime to graze on the meadows.
