The Naro National Botanical Gardens of Uganda are located in Entebbe on the shores of Lake Victoria - in fact next to our Hotel, the Sienna Beach Hotel Entebbe. 

The Gardens were founded by A. Whyte in 1898. Virtually on the equator at an altitude of 1134 m they depict different zones amongst them a rainforest zone that served as backdrop to scenes from the Tarzan films featuring Johnny Weissmuller, shot in the 1940s. gardens house a collection of species of plants of the tropical, sub-tropical and temperate zones. 199 species are indigenous to Uganda. Common are Colobus monkeys, Palm Nut Vulture and African Grey Parrot and Bat Hawk might be seen.
