The National Museum of Ethiopia in Addis Abeba is situated near the University. It houses the artistic, historic and archaelogic treasures of Ethiopia last of which are of great importance for anthropology: In Ethiopias Awash Region in the Awar Depression numerous fossils were found of hominids - our ancestors. The most famous ones: Luyc, Selamn Ardu and Garhi are shown in the musuem's basement.
