Nuremberg - Nazi party rally grounds -

Maybe some of my photos and videos shown here are too pretty in the face of the terror and horror that are connected with nazi times. So I shall try in bad weather as well ...

The Nazi party rally grounds (Reichsparteitagsgelände) covered about 11 square kilometres in the southeast of Nuremberg, Germany. Six Nazi party rallies were held there between 1933 and 1938 with nearly one million party members (filmed by Leni Riefenstahl in Triumph of the Will). After the end of World War II the huge nazi-buildings - mostly planned by Hitler's favourite architect for monumental megalomania Albert Speer - were left standing out as memorials of the nazi crimes and collective outrage.

In 2001 the Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds was opened by German President Johannes Rau in the Kongress Hall showing a tremendous exhibition "Fascination an Terror". One can spend hours inside - if one bears so much truth. See
