Vedado is a ward (consejos populares) of ca. 175.000 inhabitants within the district Plaza de la Revolución in central Havana. We had our casa particular here. In the early mornings You can take a walk and easily watch the town awakening. Took us hardly 10 minutes to stroll north and reach the coast line with the Malecón at it's beginning. The Vedado destrict stretches up to the American Embassy.
Dominating in terms of archtecture in Vedado are Art Déco and modernist architecture. Fascinating to see the variety of concrete buildings. There are no to buildings equaling each other.
